- Development of new mass spectrometry-based techniques
- Development of new ionization techniques, e.g., ambient
ionization techniques.
- Development of novel sample preparation methods for ESI-MS
and MALDI-MS analysis.
- Development of mass spectrometric techniques for direct
analysis of complex samples, e.g., food, biological tissue,
clinical samples, and environmental samples.
- Characterization of Chinese medicinal herbs by mass spectrometry
- Study of non-covalent interactions using native mass spectrometry
and hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry
- Biomarkers discovery and mechanism studies of diseases using
mass spectrometry-based proteomic and metabolomic approaches

- UPLC-Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (Waters Quattro Ultima
mass spectrometer coupled with Waters ACQUITY UPLC)
- Equipped with standard ESI source.
- HPLC-Quadrupole-Time of Flight mass spectrometers (1 unit of
Waters Q-TOF2 mass spectrometer coupled with Waters CapLC and
1 unit of Applied Biosystems Qstar Pulsar mass spectrometer coupled
with Perkin Eimer Series 200 HPLC)
- Equipped with standard ESI, nano-ESI, and APCI sources.
- Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Mass Spectrometer
(Waters MALDI MicroMX mass spectrometer)
- Equipped with standard delay-ion extraction and reflectron
mirror
- Quadrupole GC/MS (Agilent 5975B series GC/MSD)
- Equipped with standard EI/CI source and solid probe
- Time of Flight GC/MS (Waters GCT mass spectrometer coupled
with Agilent 7890A GC)
- Equipped with standard EI/CI source and solid probe
- Double focusing magnetic-sector mass spectrometer coupled with
GC (Waters AutoSpec Premier mass spectrometer coupled with Agilent
5890 GC)
